Yesterday, Ben and Carol (and little Milo) took us to former Virginia governer Mark Warner’s "Mostly Annual Pig Roast."  He’s got a big farm on the Rappahannock in King George county.  A whole lot of people came, including some notables like Jim Webb, who’s currently running against macaca-slinging George Allen for a seat representing Virginia in the US Senate.  Food, beer, petting zoo, pony rides, games and prizes for the kids, hayrides, kayaks, and even a swimming pool for those bold enough to try it (it was chilly, overcast and briefly raining).  Great time, though it’s hard to visit a fantastic homestead like Mr. Warner’s without coveting it a bit.  I don’t even need all the frills — just to live on a river would be something special.
