Hosting Control Panel Update, Two Years Later

So for some dumbass reason, I sold my ispguru domain about a year ago. I guess I wasn’t feeling ambitious at the time. Or maybe I was tired of the Turkish hackers 0wnzing my PHP-Nuke installation. Anyhow, now I’m feeling it, and wanting to revitalize it, and what better way than to update readers on my hosting control panel dilemma?

So, we made a valiant effort with the open-source RaQ550 software (BlueQuartz), but it simply wasn’t mature, and we got tired of fighting with it. We ended up doing a full-scale Plesk migration. We now have several thousand domains under Plesk’s control panel. Plesk is great, I use it for many of my own sites as well. It’s very configurable, I haven’t come across much it can’t do. Frankly, if you’ve got things going on that Plesk can’t handle, either you’ve outgrown control panels in general, or you’re spending way too much time and money on development and perhaps you should rethink your operation.

We’re now investigating SWSoft’s billing software, HSPComplete. They actually have another offering, PEM, but that seems more geared toward ginormous carrier-sized operations rather than the several-thousand-customer hosting company with relatively simple operations. When I have time, I’m going to put some articles out here on how to do some fun things within Plesk.
